I HATE YOU!
3 comics in one week! I’m on a roll. Check out today’s.
So obviously I went pretty cartoony with that final panel. This is very similar to the types of drawings I grew up doing. I was always drawing extreme, exaggerated emotions and actions. I particularly loved people screaming, and people being tugged forward or blown back (like tied to a rocket or holding onto a moving car). So this is very much an accumulation of childhood doodles. Am I going to go this cartoonish often? Probably not, but when the mood suits me, why not?
I’ve continued to go thicker with my ink, and explore some shading. I’ll probably incorporate that into all my future stuff, as I think it’s a nice evolution to my style. In a funny coincidence I switched to a much thicker pen just after I made this decision. BTW, I really like the panel on the bottom left and the contortion of Daniel’s face. I plan on doing more stuff like that, contorting the character’s to make a point or display a feeling. Overall I want to be much less rigid then I was before. Loose is the word.
