Day 80
Day 80 of the #365drawingchallenge is Snarf from the ThunderCats. I wasn’t a huge fan of this, or He-Man, or any similar action fantasy cartoons from the 80s. I just kind of knew they existed. But I did find it really funny that they all seemed to have some sort of diminutive cowardly comedic sidekick, and they usually had a fun character design. So even though I barely watched the show Snarf always stuck with me.
I drew this with my brand new tablet, the XP-Pen 13.3 Graphic Display. I did a lot of research, for several years really, before picking it. Basically I’ve wanted something that would allow me to draw on a screen for a very long time, and now I finally got one! In the past I’ve used Wacom products, and I’d love to get a Cintiq but they are just too much money. The reason I chose this particular tablet is the affordability, size and positive reviews. I know for some people it would be too small and the fact that it doesn’t come with a stand would be an issue, but for me it fits perfectly next to my laptop on my drawing table, which is already angled nicely. It was a nice swap for my Intuos Pro medium. So this is the first thing I’ve done with it. So far I’m pretty happy with it. I’ve had a few minor issues that hopefully I can sort out with customization, but overall I’m very happy with it.
