Day 132

Day 132 of the #365drawingchallenge is Linda Belcher from Bob’s Burgers. Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there. I wanted to pick a fun cartoon mom in honor of the day, and after a little thinking I landed on Linda. My family loves Bob’s Burgers, it’s probably our favorite cartoon. Moms often get short changed a lot in cartoons and sitcoms, but Linda has a big personality and gets a good amount of time to shine. She’s quirky and fun. Though you do have to get used to her being very obviously voiced by a man, along with Tina and a couple other side characters. At first that was fairly distracting for me, but once I got over it I really enjoyed the show, and those two characters in particular.

It’s not as drastic as Brendon Small yesterday, but I think I did a pretty nice job putting my own spin on the character. It’s subtle enough that you may not notice everything I changed without comparing it directly to a drawing taking straight from the show. Which is a pretty cool achievement.
