Day 215

Day 215 of the #365drawingchallenge is a request for a fan’s pink pet snake, Rose Hell. Normally when I do a pet portrait I work really closely from a photo and I do it in black and white, so this was fairly different because it’s in color and roughly based on looking at several photos of the snake. I didn’t try to make it as accurate as those other pet portraits which generally take awhile to draw, instead I just kind of eyeballed it, came up with a pose idea and busted it out quickly. So it may not look exactly like the snake in a pretty realistic way like my pet portraits, but I do think it really captured the overall look and character of it really well. And I thought the colored line style I’ve been doing lately worked really well here.
