Day 220

Day 220 of the #365drawingchallenge is the king of the surf guitar, Dick Dale. I really like surf music, and Dick Dale was one of the best. I know it’s a pretty niche genre, and in many ways it hit its peak decades ago. But there is still new surf music coming out, you just have to look for it. Most people I talk to about it don’t even realize it is a genre. I wanted to capture the spirit of Dick Dale’s music and the era when he really came up with this drawing, and I think it was pretty successful. I don’t do it a lot, but I like this more abstract stylized approach.
