Day 230

Day 230 of the #365drawingchallenge is hall of fame quarterback and legendary Packer, Bart Starr. He was the winner of Super Bowl 1 and 2, and one of the men responsible for the NFL’s initial popularity. He was also my dad’s hero growing up and the reason we are Packers fans to this day. He passed away earlier this year at 85, I had wanted to draw him right after it happened, but I was in the middle of a theme week or something. I got to meet Bart Starr a few years back with my dad at a convention and it was quite an experience. It’s the only time I’ve seen my dad fanboy out or act starstruck. Suddenly he was a boy again in the presents of his larger than life icon. And even though Bart was an old man he still had a great presents to him, an aura. He was really nice and projected this all American persona. My dad and I still joke about that day. I’m not the biggest sports guy, but I’ll always love the Packers because of the times I spent with my dad watching them, even going to a game in Green Bay and skipping school, and now I watch them with my son who has really gotten into it.
