Day 283
Day 283 of the #365drawingchallenge continues #31DaysOfHalloween with the Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates in the Alfred Hitchcock classic Psycho. I love Hitchcock and one of my favorite classes I ever took was a course all about him in college. And Psycho is one of his best. A large part of that is due to Anthony Perkins phenomenal performance. It makes the movie. And if you want proof of that look at the shot for shot remake starring Vince Vaughn. It’s all the same ingredients but every falls flat. Even the sequels, which Hitchcock was not involved with, are decent thanks to Perkins reprising the role. I did watch Bates Motel, and while I thought it started out poorly I thought it was great by the end. It was a fun alternate take on the story, and the format allowed for a deep dive into the relationship between Norman and his mother.
