Day 308

Day 308 of the #365drawingchallenge is the Invader Zim precursor comic, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. I never really read this comic, but I always saw it around and enjoyed the art style. Eventually I really the artist Jhonen Vasquez and the publisher Slave Labor Graphics or SLG were both located in my hometown of San Jose, CA. This was the first time I can really remember learning someone I was impressed with was from my town, and I thought it was cool that comics were being published were I lived. So it was sort of inspirational. So while I may not be a diehard JtHM fan, it does hold a special place for me. And I had a lot of fun drawing this. I did struggle with the to color it or leave it black and white. Both versions looked pretty good, and the original comics weren’t in color, so I was kind of making up the colors I thought looked cool.
