Day 179

Day 179 of the #365drawingchallenge is the man without fear, Daredevil. I like Daredevil. I’ve recently been rewatching the Nextflix show and really enjoying it. I can’t say I’ve read a ton of Daredevil, but like a lot of people I thought the Frank Miller run was really good. You could directly see it influence a lot of other things I love, like the Ninja Turtles and The Tick. Without that run I don’t know if we have the ninja craze in America in the 80s and 90s.

Oh, I did see the Ben Affleck movie when it came out, and yeah, it sucked. It’s a famously bad movie for a reason. And not really in a so bad it’s fun kind of way. I’ve never drawn Daredevil before, but it felt pretty natural and easy. I’d like to try drawing some more. Of course this was based more off his traditional comic book appearance than anything else. And I like the way it turned out, especially the shadows and hi-lights on the forehead and neck. It’s similar to the way I drew Black Panther and a fairly classic comic book look for characters that don’t have a lot of details on the face mask area.
