Day 194

Day 194 of the #365drawingchallenge is the hookah smoking caterpillar Absolem from Alice in Wonderland. My Cheshire Cat a few weeks ago got a very positive response with interest in seeing my take on more Alice in Wonderland characters. So this is my own interpretation, not based that closely on the Disney portrayals or anything, just kind of a little of everything I’ve seen of the character plus my own ideas. I feed my lizards hornworms and mealworms pretty regularly, so I get to see caterpillar type creatures pretty regularly and wanted to work in a little of what they really look like too. I’m pretty happy with this one and the psychedelic qualities it captures. I’d actually like to try it again in a new pose that shows some of his back, as I had some interesting ideas for striping.
