Day 303

Day 303 of the #365drawingchallenge continues #31DaysOfHalloween with the Pumpkin King, Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas. I’ve loved this movie since it first came out. I was a huge fan, and I remember it not being nearly as popular back then. It came out, I seemed to be the only one I knew who loved it, and no one really talked about it. I used to search for any kind of merchandise from it when we went to the Disney store, but there almost never was any. And it stayed that way until late in my teens when Hot Topic burst onto the scene and goth culture exploded. Then everyone started falling in love with it. It felt kind of cool to be ahead of the trend, and I liked that I finally could buy some cool stuff. Since then the merchandise has become a bit over saturated. Hell, my kids bathroom is decorated in a Nightmare Before Christmas theme. For a few years they would rerelease the movie in 3D in theaters and I would go to it every time. It was one of the best uses of 3D I’ve ever experienced because it really let you see the textures.
