The Incredible Hulk Hogan

The Incredible Hulk Hogan

This was fun to draw. I’ve drawn Hulk a few times over recent years, and his characteristics are so large and exaggerated that it really lets you try some things you wouldn’t with most characters. And you know I love my pro wrestling. So combining the two Hulks seemed pretty natural. While I really never liked Hogan, and I think he was revealed to be a pretty disgusting guy later in life, I do like the nostalgia of him and what he represented back in the day. The story goes that Hulk Hogan got his name when on a talk show with Lou Ferrigno (the actor who played the Hulk on tv) and the host pointed out that Hogan’s arms were bigger. For 25 years Marvel actually owned the name Hulk Hogan and the WWF paid them to use it, until Hogan bought it from Marvel in 2005. So the comic connection has always been there. I really like the way this turned out. I find it really funny, and a pretty good drawing too.
