Wheatley

One of my favorite characters from one of my favorite games. Stephen Merchant does an incredible job bringing this character to life. The counterpoint to Glados is just fantastic. Wheatley is a lovable idiot who you feel for until (spoilers) he goes power mad and turns into the main villain of the game. The reveal that he is basically the dumbest creature in existence by his very design is great too. This was something I always had on the back-burner last year when I did the daily drawing challenge, so I’m glad I finally got the chance to draw him. It is a deceptively complex drawing. The basic design is fairly simple, but when you really add in all the details it actually took me longer then a lot of the drawings I’ve done lately. Of course I wanted to set him in SPAAACE! I just played through the first Portal again last night, and I’ll probably play the second one again soon. I love the physics and unique problem solving. Basically I love everything about these games.
