Generally with this Inktober drawings I draw the first thing that pops into my head, and I try to take the opportunity to be more creative than some of my digital drawings that are based off of known characters. These are original ideas where I don’t really use any references and just draw from my mind. When I saw Fancy I knew pretty much immediately that I wanted to draw a well dressed skeleton, something I’ve drawn before very much inspired by Mike Mignola’s work. I thought it would be fun to go classic fancy with the fez and smoking jacket, pipe and monocle, and the legs crossed sitting in a nice lounger. And I find the results really funny. And I really think I’m getting better at posing without any kind of reference.
